PRACTICUM STUDENT

Maya is a Master’s-level practicum student working toward becoming a Registered Psychologist. Although she is currently completing her practicum hours, she brings over seven years of experience supporting children and families across school, community, and residential settings.

Maya has extensive experience within the school system, where she has helped develop Individualized Program Plans (IPPs), Functional Behaviour Assessments, and creative intervention plans tailored to each child’s unique needs. She understands that behaviour is often a child’s way of communicating and works to uncover what may be happening beneath the surface.

Known for her warm, playful, and down-to-earth approach, Maya enjoys finding creative ways to connect with children and teens. She works collaboratively with families to build practical strategies, strengthen confidence, and help young people feel understood and successful—both at home and at school.
